Your Midnight Rescue - Irimaso Shimwa Souvenir
Calliope, you sang!
Now Sisyphus’ stone is light!
A breath the trees used to beat me to,
and stared scornfully at my smallness all day,
now beds in my lungs.
I had started kissing my teeth
when the wind hurled through their many fingers;
until you played an inspired tune
that ripened the day, Calliope.
You sang about a turning back
that’d morph me into rain and ray,
and not a pillar of salt.
Calliope, you came!
I’m alive, Calliope!
