Is Izzy Alright - Nicola Koen

Give me word of my child

Bless my ears with lies about

The full moon in the bright

Of day; tell me of suns

Burning red while wearing

My frayed winter coat.

Give me word of daughter,

Isabella. Is she well?

Will spring see her again;

Like a nymph hibernating

She will awake beside the

White sanded riverbed?

Oh, wishing well, give news.

Tell she’s lying in your

arms, twisted in the reeds.

Tell of her safe travels

To the world only the

Dead can seem to discover.

Tell me, dear dream bringer.

Is Izzy smiling? Did

I not pay for her joy?

Bounds of ribbons, pills, wine.

To hang around her pale

Vampire-bitten neck.

Tell me, did she forgive

Me for pushing her in?
